WR CHECK DISK TOOL + encoding problem
Angelika:
WR CHECK DISK TOOL
it scans the disk but does not inform about the cleanup of the security descriptors, please add the Verbose options for NTFS.
issue2:
Please add UTF-8 because it does not display Polish characters correctly,
Boggin:
The chkdsk function in the repair program only executes it in read-only mode so does not do any repairs.
You would need to manually perform a chkdsk /f or /r
I'll pass on your complaint about the language though.
Angelika:
Yes, it's just about checking the disk, without any repair!
How to check (in a few seconds) huge hard drives in read-only mode like Drive Medic (System Mechanic 15.5)?
The function without / f - works extremely slowly.
CHKDSK /I /C (without /F !) = Extreme slow
Test:
Drive Medic check 100.000.000 Files (1 MB per 1 file) = It checked in a few minutes !!! 10000% superfast
Boggin:
Then use that - I'm quite happy with the speed Windows does it on my 640GB and 1TB drives.
Your original complaint was that the chkdsk in WR wasn't doing what you thought it should be doing and I've explained why.
need answers:
Windows 10 64bit on hp
Trying the check disk tool at start up with repair option,
but is seems to be stuck at "drive C 10% complete"
so is this normal and is it still scanning and repairing or is it stuck?
if its stuck, how do I safely get out of the scan please?
Thank you, much appreciated
