Where does TWEAKING start from?

<< < (2/3) > >>

Boggin:
That is correct.

It's an useful check as it has occasionally found corruption in the files and a reinstall was required.

I don't how the corruption occurs, but it has a couple of times for me.

bromberg:
And when a file is marked as corrupted, is TWEAKING smart enough to download and replace the corrupted file, or at least name it so I can research the problem?
Thanks,
Dan

Boggin:
No, even the Pro version doesn't do that - it requires a manual reinstall but you can download on top of the existing install where it just overwrites it.

bromberg:
Now I'm confused!? I thought the 781(?) files Tweaking evaluates are the Windows 10/OS files?!
How am I supposed to know which file(s) is/are corrupt unless some sort of report is produced?
Dan

Boggin:
It doesn't matter which file(s) are corrupt - you just reinstall the program.

If you had a corrupt Win 10 and you ran dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth and that did the job, would you be bothered with finding out what it had restored or just grateful that your system was working again - I know what I'd be.

I've told you how to resolve when the repair program reports corrupt files, but you seem to be making a big thing about it when it isn't.
