Hi, can i repair user profile using tweaking com repair tool

(1/3) > >>

jraju:
Hi, If i have corrupted user profile, then there is a possibility of system collpse, including bsod and other kernel errors.
Which repair item in the tool will repair the user profile to remove the bad clusters etc.
just creating and copying, does not seem to fix this corrupted profile.
i do not know, if the correction has been done, without any indication.
if suppose, this feature is not present, i would please reques Shane and boogins team to include this in the repair tool.
if such repair is already present, kindly say which item i have to select.
My OS almost collapse, could not even boot, as i found a alert in suing chkdsk /r, that windows has replaced bad clusters in user/ntuser.dat.i think ntuser.dat is personal comuter settings of the individual about windows behaviour

Boggin:
Offhand I would say it would be the first four repairs but the fact that a chkdsk /r has found bad clusters and you have boot problems, would suggest that your HDD is failing and I would advise you to create a system image onto external media soonest in preparation for complete failure.

If you perform another chkdsk it will tell you how many KBs it has found in bad sectors.

Once they start to go bad, they can expand exponentially which can leave you little time to take mitigation in preparation for complete failure.

jraju:
Hi, boggins, are you suggest , total back up all drives in to a external drive like by macrium reflect or is this different.
I notice the alert only for the profile , windows has replaced bad cllusters.
Does that not imply that bad clusters have been replaced with repair parameters
I ask you to recommend a separate repair, if possible, as every repair is specific.
The fact that just copying one ntuser.dat from other computer or from other working accounts, by renaming the ntuser.dat of the corrupted profile is said to be a fix.
But shane could , by adding this repair, could opt for default profile  and fix with the repair parameters, it would be a boon.
in future, if anybody has this problem, like explorer take much time to load, browsers not working, even boot becomes problematic, if this data goes berserk or corrupted.
i could just select that repairs  as a stand alone repair item and fix my errors , instead of risking all the other things.

Boggin:
I would strongly advise you to perform another chkdsk to see how many KBs it has found in bad sectors.

Once bad clusters have been found, it's usually a prelude to complete failure, but you could perform a sfc /scannow to see if it can repair any file corruption.

Boot problems are typical with a failing HDD.

Yes, I use Macrium Reflect free for my system images.

Boggin:
I forgot to add that to view the chkdsk log, go Start - type eventvwr and press enter when it comes up.

When Event Viewer has read the data, expand Windows Logs and click on Application/Action/Find and type chkdsk into the Find box.

Cancel the Find box and read the log in the scrollable pane below.
