Beta Repair System Restore
Shane:
The registry backup wouldnt say it fixed 10 things :-)
Can you post a screen shot of the reg backup so I can see what it backed up.
Also it can only backup other profiles if the VSS service works, if it uses the fall backup method, which is the Windows API it can only backup the current user profile and the system registry files, it wont be able to grab any other profile.

TykeArt:
Tweaking.com System Restore reports “Restore Point created at 15/7/2013 – 13:40:52” however this is not shown when Windows “Restore” is clicked. The last restore point is 4th July 2013.
Tweaking.com Registry Backup states - Volume Shadow Copy Running: Yes, Volume Shadow Copy Ready: Yes, “Successful! 18/18 Registry Files Backed Up. The Log_Backup.txt however states 15/07/2013 - 13:46:39] Use Fallback Backup Method: 1 (0 = No, 1 = Yes).
I am running Windows 7 64bit and have 2 internal drives and one external all NFTS. These are divided into 7 partitions as follows:
Disk 1 C: Primary, Boot, System, Page File, Active, E:Primary, F:Primary
Disk 2 D: Primary, Page File G:Primary, H:Primary
Disk 3 (External) K:Primary, L:Logical (Backup)
Beta Repair System Restore run. Subsequently Create System Restore Point (C: Drive) fails with the message “The restore point could not be created for the following reason: The specified object was not found (0x80042308). System Protection will create restore points with “Only Restore Previous Versions of Files” selected for all drives with the exception of C:. If “Restore System Settings” is switched on for the C: Drive old restore points can be seen but if selected the message “The selected backup could not be found” is received.
Event Viewer Logs the following related message - Event ID 14: The shadow copies of volume C: were aborted because of an IO failure on volume C:.
As you will appreciate Windows Backup does not work either.
Thanks for your work which, judging by the number of people with problems of this sort on the internet, is badly needed.

That errors from any program means that it couldn't find a dll or ocx file that it needed.
Of course one of the problems is the error in the event viewer wont tell us what file it needs and MS list nothing on what files it uses.
And if the file it needs is ont he system a lot of times it just needs registered.

Hi there
Ok so I'm using your great program and glad to see your trying to fix the system restore
I have been having problems with this dam thing now for weeks and Microsoft is not at all concerned if it works
I'm currently using a program called RollbackRx because system restore is so unreliable
I have tried using your beta fix but it's no good it just will not work
if I use RollbackrRX and go back lets say a week or so The system restore will work
then within a day or so I try to do a system restore and it's knackered again any ideas ?
as I said earlier I tried your beta repair but it just won't fix it
and I know for a fact there are at least 6 restore points there I made from yesterday when it was working
I booted puter this morning and the system restore isn't working again (it says no restore points have been created etc)
I will try to work with you by answering any questions you have in tryin to get your program to fix it
cheers
