play flv or any media files in vlc media player in selected order

Hi,     I want to play movie or flv files in a selected order. Even changing the settings in the playlist in the preference menu, and saving, the files are being played in only in random order. Is there any solution for this. How to play the first selected file first, second by second etc. I have gone through the other help articles also but could not find the solution. Even not selecting the random and select repeat all does not solve the problem. Would you please help in this regard

It depends on what player your using.

Myself I use media player classic that comes part of the k-lite codec pack :wink:

Hi ,    I am trying vlc media player. latest version. Even though i dis select random in the tools , preference menu, and then playlist and then copy in the order of the movie files, flv files 1,2 3 etc., it does not play in the said order. So, i am asking you, whether there is any player, which has these settings.

Hi,   I found out a way for this problem. First, i renamed the files to 01.flv 02.flv etc. Then i dis select the random selection (by going to the preference menu, bottom menu all, and then playlist selection and then dis selecting) and then click playlist , add these files one by one 01 and then 02flv. Then i saved the playlist to a named file. If you open this saved playlist file, the vlc media player plays in the order in which it is chosen, continueously. Thank you Shane
