actually its gone back to not working and bringing up the critical error box.  the only difference between earlier in the day and tonight is that at night i have flux running.  could it be a conflict?

4
hi just run the update.  its still the same...

5
so the menu, search bar and tools on the right are working but the windows store and associated apps are still note responding.  ill send it through the repair tool again.

6
hi just tried the 3.5.1 update - still not working. im going through those web pages you sent aswell

7
ok so now the menu seems to be working and the apps seem to be working too. however theres only a few live tiles on there but i guess thats just a question of them appearing over time as you use different apps.  however i still cant get into the store.  now when i click to go into the store a message box comes up saying: "you'll need a new app to open this ms windows store" but doesnt do anything when you click OK

8
hi just tried that still got the same problem...

hi found powershell did admin run. ran the line and it went onto a sign like this >>   restarted but still nothing

Hi,
the problem started with not being able to left click on the start menu.  i ran your repairs and i could then get into start but most of the apps were missing and when i cliked on some like the windows store it didnt respond.  I ran the 3.5.0 update and it was just the same.  today however its gone back to not responding to the left click on the start menu.  a box comes up saying 'critical error - we'll try to fix it next time you sign in'.  i would do the thing that you have said in the previous post but i cant get into the start menu - well actually i can get into the right click menu but as far as i can see theres no powershell option on that one.
thanks

Hi,

I have recently upgraded to Windows 10, it was fine but suddenly I have am not able to click on the start menu button nor the search bar nor the icons in the bottom right corner.  As far as I can remember I have not installed any programs or tampered with the registry in any way just prior to this.  Ive run your program which has been veyr helpeful in the past, but nothing has changed this time.  Well one thing has changed - i was getting a message box coming up syaing there was a problem with the start menu and tha ti should log out and in again.  this doesnt appear anymore.  If you could help me i would be forever grateful..   Thanks

Hi,

could you please tell me how I can open powershell as admin if i cannot go into the start menu?  I also have the same problem - i cant click on start menu nor the serch bar nor the icons on the right.

Thanks

21
It was the new version  of Windows Repair.  Thanks very much for that!

22
yeah theres no other file there.  I downloaded Skype for Windows 8 in the store and it works fine.  Thanks very much the problem seems to be resolved.  Thanks for you time and help.  However there does seem to be a problem with some other apps downloaded from the store but they are non-essential things like a journey planner or something like that.  When I load them it just goes off the screen and back to the Windows App panel, if I click on it again the same thing happens the load page sflashes up but the automaticlly changes back to the app page.  But these things are not important things to me - maybe it is a different problem.  The main thing is that the firewall seems to be fixed and its allowing Skype to run.  Thanks

23
hi,

Im not sure I know what you mean.  Do you mean the log file that is created after doing the repairs (the one attached to the previous email).  If so there is no mention of HKEY in there.

Thanks

24
