I used the Registry Backup v1.7.0 program, but got a problem when the computer just to start and error message are as in the screen shot!
-
What is set for the backup location in the settings for the program?
Post a screen shot of it for me.
Shane

c:/regBackup/
-
Odd, the error shows that it is only seeing a \ instead of the full path.
Open the settings.ini file in the folder of the program. In that file you will see a line that starts with BackupLocation=
What does it have there?
Shane
-
how to open this settings.ini file ? And where is the location of the folder?
-
You just double click on it, and I said it is in the same folder as the program :-)

OK, I think you mean this? If I'm right?

Odd, everything looks fine. When exactly do you get that error and does it happen every time?
Shane
-
Weird! :artist: I've noticed this error yesterday when the computer just to have a start and of course this is the first time that happens!
-
Maybe it was just a fluke and for some reason the program couldn't read the settings file.
If it isnt doing it now then dont worry about it, but if it happens again let me know when it happens, such as when you first open it, when you try to do a backup and so on.

I had a subscription to your page on Twitter!

I still get this error in version 1.8.0
-
Very odd. I am unable to replicate it and since I cant replicate it there isn't anything i can do.
I wonder what is different on your system that might be causing the problem.
Shane

Hmmmmm I do not know what's causing this problem, but I've been trying to restore the system to a previous restore point, but I always get an error message when I want to do a system restore! http://www.tweaking.com/forums/index.php/topic,1630.msg10437.html#msg10437

I think i found the problem bud.
Can you post a screen shot of the main window of the program?
When the program goes to make the backup path it uses the computer name. But if the computer name isnt pulled or the info isnt right then it errors out and since the path comes back as blank you only see the \
So a screen shot will let me see that :-)
SO i should have this fixed in the next update once I see what is happening.
