Hi all,im getting "Virtual Device Driver format in the registry is invalid.
Choose 'Close' to terminate the application" error when i open my Xen dos app

Ive deleted and recreated the VDD Reg key with regegt 32 as per
the msoft fix and run the file checker but no change

So you tried this fix already?

Also after you do the change you need to make sure to reboot

Ok thanks ill do the fix again and reboot (think i did that last time time)
(did the ms fix and ran the file checker)
would it be worth rebuilding the reg key totally?
dos apps run if i ignore the error but i guess itll cause problems
somewhere down the road, installs and so on?
Any thoughts appreciated
Thanks Shane, awesome work youre doing on this site:)

I havent had to use dos programs in a long time lol
I say just follow that fix and reboot and see how it turns out and we can from there

Did the fix again and rebooted-no change?i use the xen app cos its a great cleaner
and maintenance app for xp but i think the error affects other parts of the system than just dos app running? :undecided:
Seems v difficult to troubleshoot fr a simple error
any thoughts appreciated :artist:

From the looks of what I can find it looks like you can simply ignore the error.
I havent used a dos program in a lot of years and without being able to replicate the bug here it will be hard for me to find a proper fix without having you try a ton of things lol.
