Tweaking.com Support & Help / Re: Where does TWEAKING start from?
« on: November 18, 2018, 03:24:30 pm »
Though I would be curious to know what files are corrupt just to see if it was something I caused for whatever reason, I agree, I'd be far more grateful to just get back to a functioning PC.

Sorry to beat a dead horse, but I'm still not sure how to get back to normal. Are you saying that by merely reinstalling TWEAKING.com that the corrupt files are repaired? I would have thought reinstalling TWEAKING would fix its own program but if I understand you correctly reinstalling TWEAKING somehow corrects MS's 781 programs, not the TWEAKING program - is that correct? In other words, after I reinstall TWEAKING and run the analysis I will no longer see any errors; if so, would've been nice if that was documented somewhere (or did I overlook it, would not be the first time).

Thanks again for your patience,
Dan

Now I'm confused!? I thought the 781(?) files Tweaking evaluates are the Windows 10/OS files?!
How am I supposed to know which file(s) is/are corrupt unless some sort of report is produced?

And when a file is marked as corrupted, is TWEAKING smart enough to download and replace the corrupted file, or at least name it so I can research the problem?
Thanks,
Dan

So it's not possible to get to the GUI until the FILE CHECKING has completed - correct?
Thanks,
Dan

Thanks! It took a few minutes for the GUI to appear (containing the SETTINGS icon) after it was done file checking
so I kept closing TWEAKING since I wan't aware there even was a GUI !?!
Thanks again,
Dan

When I boot up tweaking.com is running but since I don't always want to run it I see no need to take up any resources.
I don't see it as a menu option or in the STARTUP folder, so how does it start?
Thanks,
Dan

Shane,
Thanks for the clarification.
I'm not a gamer so I guess this program is of no value to me since I can always use the Task Manager to kill a task not responding.

How do I use KILL_FROZEN_PROGRAM when my PC is locked up?
SHIFT+F2 doesn't start your program.
Was I supposed to do something so that it would?

Thanks,
Dan
