I received your reply via a reported post to a Moderator -

The reporter has made the following comment:
I havnt tried it in normal mode  Alvira pro anti virus

To reply to a post, just hit the Reply button.

I assume Alvira Pro will have its own firewall ?

If you had been using a free AV program that didn't have its own firewall then it would be using Windows Firewall which also becomes active in Safe Mode.

So does it start in normal mode ?

I reported the same issue here where WR AIO 3.9.4 would run in normal mode but not in safe mode.

Haven't managed to get another look at this computer since my post but, when I get the chance, I'll install the latest version, try WR in safe mode again, and report any Event Viewer messages.

Yes, I remember.

It could be that one of the services that should be running in Safe Mode isn't, but if it was the program then there would have been many more complaints of this.

I'll see if Shane has any suggestions.

I've just tried 3.9.6 in Safe Mode in Win 10 and it opened okay, although it still failed to repair the 72 Reparse Points it snags as others have found in Win 10.
