I had the same problem yesterday. The little yellow shield appeared in my task bar about updates found. I tried 5 times to install them and, although my system said they were installed, they never were. Afterwards I had two problems I could not figure out and I used TWEAK to clean my machine and get me up and running. This morning, those same three files popped up again. I'm wondering if maybe they are malicious programs in themselves and I am NOT going to try to install them again. I clicked on the update shield, chose "Custom Install", unmarked all three files and then then chose "Do not show these files again". Once I closed that dialog box the yellow shield disappeared from from my taskbar. Those three files are only for MS Office 2007 and Excel and I don't consider them "Critical" even if they are legitimate.

Did you run Windows Repair with the option "Repair Windows Update" ticked ? These two posts didn't mention that.

It isnt your computer, this is a problem on MS end and is in the news lol
Just hide the 3 updates so they dont bug you and until MS gets it fixed on their end.
