Title: Restore Important Windows Services
Post by: Gamezertruth on March 19, 2014, 07:56:05 pm
I'm wondering whether "Restore Important Windows Services" it is the same as the option of Windows Startup Repair '! And I have to ask you because of that Windows Startup Repair option'can not fix it! Also, Windows 7 always fails to restore the system to an earlier point! lol  :shy:

Restore services replaces the regkeys for certain services, while the startup repair simply changes the startup for each service to their defaults and doesnt replace any regkeys.

Only time it would have trouble setting the startup is if there is a permissions problem or something is changing the startup after the repair does it.

That repair uses the sc command in Window to set it.

If you look in the files folder you will see services_startup files, in those is the commands it runs.

Example: sc config Alerter start= Disabled
