Being that running Tweaking takes a bit of time, is there a recommended period of time between scans to run it?
-
It has been advocated to run it twice for the repairs to effect, so I suppose there wouldn't be any time constraints on when you could run it.
Are you having any problems in particular ?
-
No particular issue, and I do run it twice during a scan as recommended, however, other than that like once a week, or other suggested intervals?
I just installed Bitdefender (security suite). Do you suggest that be on or off for Tweaking?
-
Well it's advocated to run the program in Safe Mode anyway because AV programs can get in the way.
As for running the program on a regular basis - I run a chkdsk /r and sfc /scannow each month before I create a system image, but that is because I want to know that the image I'll be saving is a good one, even though there are files that a sfc doesn't check.
The program does more than that but if everything is okay, do you really need to run it weekly ?
How would you know that doing so would improve your system when it's working okay anyway.

Right, oh wise one.
How about the security suite running?
-
:D
When you boot up into safe Mode all 3rd party programs are isolated including security programs because they aren't loaded and that is why it's advised to run the program in Safe Mode.
I use Norton Security which has a bit more to it than just an antivirus and firewall but when you manually start it in that mode, all you can do is an antivirus scan.
MBAM won't even run in that mode because its service isn't loaded.

Thanks Boggin. You might take a look at Bitdefender. It's rather impressive. Thanks again. End subject.

I dumped Norton Security for a little while and was using Bitdefender Free but it wasn't always starting when I booted up and then it started playing up, so I went back to Norton as there were still quite a few days left on the licence.
