My laptop, Asus zenbook infity Windows 8.1, starts the Asus loading screen. Then it jumps to a Windows loading screen. It is written: "Gjør Windows klar. Ikke slå av datamaskinen."(readying Windows. Do not turn of the Computer). After the Windows loading screen runs for about 15 seconds, it jumps to the Asus loading screen and the loop is complete. I have pressed f9 and entered the Windows diagnostics/repair tools. I have tried everything, it wouldn't run successfully the "forny PCen"(renew the computer) or "Tilbakestill PCen"(reset to a previous version) tools. I tried the safe modes, only safe mode with cmd worked. When I logged into the computer, I ran successfully explorer.exe. I did run the tweaking.com repair tools, it didn't fix the problem. What should I do?

This appeared while trying to Reset it to the 12/13/2013 version. It is written in Norwegian, but the important part is that the error code is 0x80070571.

It sounds like it is blue screening with an error but is set to auto reboot.
You said it does load in safe mode though correct? Or only safe mode with a cmd prompt? Which means that once explorer.exe runs the system crashes. Could be a virus that attached itself to explorer.exe

After logging in, I am able to run explorer.exe, does explorer.exe run before I log into my user? Anyway, could I simply download a clean version of explorer.exe and replace it, would that Solve the problem? Or should I run malwarebytes or something similar.

How do I remove the virus, if it is a virus?

Have you tried running combofix.exe on the system yet?

Do you mean the windows autofix? apparently in wndows words, the operating system version is incompatible with startup repair.

The combofix recognizes my computer as windows 2000.

Turns out combofix worked on windows 8 but doesnt on 8.1, yet.
So for now we have to skip it till they update it. Have you ran the malwarebytes anti rootkit tool yet?
