Title: Joystick from 8 directions to 4

I have a joystick for MAME, 2-axis, 8-button.

It has 8 directions, is there any way to be only 4 directions(up-down-left-right)?

I dont know, that will all have to do with the software that is made for the joy stick. Normally you can control what each button does and turn off buttons you dont want.

Well, I m talking for the stick, not for the buttons. The stick has 8 directions, I d like to make it 4(no corners)  :smiley:

Dont think that is possible, they have the ability to program the buttons but normally the stick is pure hardware.
