For which program?

All of the installers are set not to overwrite the settings.ini file. So just like with the Windows Repair installer, it will overwrite all the files in the folder except the settings.ini file so you should be able to just install it and your settings stay.

Sorry.. I use the Tweaking.com registry backup V 1.7
portable in a zip file. Now there is a version 1.8. Should I just unzip the 1.8 over the 1.7?

Thanks,

BL

*****SOLVED**** Since the only settings I had were the backup location and the number of copies of the registry to keep, I just used the newer version and updated the newer version with my settings.

Sorry for the late reply, was on a job fixing 30 computers at a customers of mine and didnt get home till 10 pm lol

Yes, if you ever want to save your settings just save the settings.ini file in the program folder. Then when you unzip the new one, since unzipping overwrites all of them, then you just copy the settings.ini file back. In each of my programs I keep all the settings in that ini file so people can run them off of thumbs drives and such and not have the settings in the registry of that computer. :-)

So by using a ini file instead it allows my programs to be portable.
