Title: cpu overload
Post by: batman on July 06, 2014, 04:52:13 pm
My computer starts up and runs great for a few minutes and then dllhost.exe start popping up and my cpu goes to 100%. A tech from Microsoft Support worked with it for 4 hrs. last night and it still doesn't work. Has anyone else had this problem? I can barely use it it is so slow.

Could be multiple reasons, the link vinnie posted gives you a few of them you can look into.

What scans have been ran on the system? Have you ran combofix.exe on it yet?

First thing to do is to make sure it isnt infected as most of the time it is the reason, after that we can start going down the list of the rest.

Shane, I went to combofix and it said my "windows installer" had errors and for me to go to Microsoft Support and download it. I went there and removed the old windows installer and installed the new and guess what? My problem is solved. I guess the "bug" was in windows installer. Thanks for the suggestion. If I hadn't tried to download your fix I would still be lost.  :cheesy:

As long as you are fixed that is all that matters. Let me know if the problem comes back
