I was trying out the program called 'Everything' which literally indexes everything you give it access to on your PC. I sorted the complete list by size & I find a backup file listed on my 'e' drive called backupofxp.bkf & is a whopping 68GB. I says it was created March 2014. But if I go to that drive I can't find it.
The only things that is remotely similar on that drive is a file called 'backp.tly dated aug 2014 & this is much smaller. The first file appears that it might be some sort of backup for Windows XP but why it should be on this drive at all I can't imagine since I have had Windows 7 Pro for years. I have deleted file from Everything before. Should I delete this one.?

Since I didn't get any reply's I decided to just go ahead & delete the file. This hasn't presented any problems. I also deleted my 12G paging file & told Windows not to run any on my 'C' drive which is an SSD but it re created the same one anyway once I rebooted.

Fridays can be a bad day to post as Shane, the website and forum's owner has his own computer repair business to service and the weekends are his family time.
As it was a back up from an old upgrade from XP, I figured you would be able to delete it but as once it's gone, it is gone, I held off should I be wrong to advise removing it.
If it wasn't hurting anything by being there, then a little bit of patience may have been more prudent - but as long as you are happy, can you add (Solved) to your thread title.

A bkf file is a file created with the windows backup program. If you dont need that backup file it is totally safe to delete, nothing uses it. It is just a backup you created :-D
