Title: BOOTMGR Missing
Post by: Boggin on March 10, 2015, 03:59:24 pm
Hi Shane,

I passed on your link for the Vista SP2 ISO but when they tried it they got the title of the thread.

I was wondering if you have a machine to try it on or if you have another ISO source.

Thanks, Shane.

The person I'd passed it onto has wiped the HDD and is going to try again and if the Bootmgr error reoccurs, is going to try the Bootrec remedial steps and if that's a no go, then see if the smaller ISO that JR has linked will install.

Unfortunately the computer vendor no longer supplies Vista OEM disks and the ones the guy has, are sticking after putting the second one in which could suggest it's damaged.

I downloaded a MBRfix for all systems some time ago;
I can send to you so folk-es can download it to repair their MBR, it works to recover the MBR's automatically...

That's okay Rick, the OP was given methods in how to fix the Boot Manager problem but found the HDD was at fault and installed Win 7 onto another HDD.

When the OP came back after my posting methods for how to repair the MBR, he had already installed Win 7.
