Hi,
your quesion needs some more specifics. Which has been registering your files that takes much time than needed? Is it your command prompt action? Please tell these details to get the quick solution to your problem

hi there

thanks for reply. been running the windows repair programme v3.5.1 in safe mode. it went through the first 3 or 4 stages fine, then moved on to repair stage. this is where it says it is registering 128 files.

No that isnt normal at all. the program is calling the regsvr32.exe to register the dll files. It sounds like regsvr32 is locking up or having trouble. You should see it in the task manger, you can kill the one that seems to be stuck and the repair should continue on.

- try to run repair "10 - Remove policies set by infections" first. It could help.
