Post by: celticscorpio on October 21, 2016, 11:17:22 am
Calling on techs for assistance.I have professional verion of windows repair on my pc. Did a thorough repair, tool requested startup o complete repair, went into startup, froze in startup for 15 minutes, had to do forced shutdown, then when I restarted pc,startup repair comes up, diagnosis pc, but with all repair options, a dialogue box comes up, saying " This computer is configured to require a password, please enter the startup password below."   Ive tried my login password, and my Microsoft website password, and when it does accept password, resends me to startup repair,. When attempt one of the repairs, the password dialogue box comes up again.
To sum it up, Im caught in a loop. If my administrator profile is wiped clean, how do I access pc to reset a new profile ?

Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to see if you get the option to Change Password and then to create a Password Recovery Disk - I'm not familiar with Win 8.# but Win 10 requires that you use an USB stick, so think Win 8.1 could be similar.
