Title: Windows system restore
Post by: peterr on May 17, 2013, 05:26:51 am
Hi Shawn
The last updates caused issues that disabled system restore from functioning. It gave a coe I misplaced but had to do with 2 backups trying to work -I think.

If I used your registry backup instead, would I be able to restore my registry if Window files get corrupted?
In other words should I use theirs yours or both regarding restoring the registry   when files get corrupted and the overall ability to restore the registry is concerned??
Thank you

I personally only use my reg backup. 90% of problems in Windows are from the registry. I am not worried about my files as I back those up anyways.

My reg backup has a few easy ways of restoring your registry if Windows cant boot. Something System restore cant always do :-)

Hello
Unless I hear from you otherwise, I will assume that your registry backup will be more effective than system restore as it handles it differently.
Using your system will allow me to restore the registry when system restore cannot.

I had posted a second time because I wanted to know if I should disable system restore but I guess the answer is yes.
