Recently my wife's pc had issues and Windows system restore failed.
Is your restore system different to the point where this will not happen?
-
I dont have a restore system, I have my registry backup, which is 90% of the time what you need most.

I confused my terms.
Windows has a system restore.
You have registry backup.
You advocate using your registry backup but I do not know if I should turn off the Windows system restore to use yours.

I am searching for some software that will only search restore points;
And
No program should ever turn of system restore; we should enable a locking key to avoid this, also, when you run the disk cleaner, be sure not to delete restore points. that oo should not be a feature!
I am also going to try this program too, see if any good results
Please Google: Farbar Recovery Scan Tool to dowload. the link I had provided does'nt always work

I was mentioning your registry program in a Windows eight forum and was not sure what to tell them about removing individual points.
Can this be done with your program without hurting the other points?
And Rick, thank you for your help.

Registry Backup only backs up (as the name implies) the registry. When one creates a Sys8tem Restore Point (SRP) , it backs up more parts of the Windows system, including the registry.
Nope, it can't be done with Registry Backup or any other program from Tweaking.com. If you want to safely delete one or more SRPs then use e.g. Piriform's Ccleaner.

I tried Ccleaner and it read all the points except two that are way back in Dec 12 and Jan 13.
I tried the program that removes them to no avail.
If I ran clean up system files and chose to remove all the points except the last, would it take care of those two stubborn useless but dangerous points. Either that or leave as is.

Seems making an ISO of the disk is the only solution !
-
Could you explain what you mean, please.
-
Use system restore and my registry backup. Never hurts to have more than one backup in case one of them has trouble :-)

Will do. I will just reduce the number of points to about 3%. I will set your as I always do with the task scheduler.
Thank you

I hope you will fix your program to backup dual boot files systems :)

He is saying to have the reg backup also backup the boot manager in Windows, which isnt the registry, but something that could be a life saver if backed up.

Shane, there is not could be about it, it is definite! you should make your program run from an install disk, I would make it a priority there are many such programs that tweak, but lets tweak them all (LOL)
