Title: Usb 3.0 Problems
Post by: chris635 on August 22, 2013, 09:09:58 pm
Hey bud,

I am having a problem with onboard USB 3.0. I have 4, and none work. My motherboard is the Asrock 990fx Extreme9 (this board overclocks like a champ!). When I try to install the Etron USB 3.0 drivers I get a message saying that driver software was unsucessful. Etron will show it is installed on windows ( I have removed it and re-installed). The first pic below shows what happens with no drivers installed, but the USB 3.0 controller is enabled in the bios, and it stays that way even with etron installed. There is power going to the ports ( I checked with my micro Cruzer USB stick, it lite up briefly). Any idea how to fix this.

I am o the Asrock 990fx Extreme4 :-)

When the setup says it was unsuccessful can you find the setup log and see if it shows what the error was?

No errors in set up log under the event viewer. I tried re installing again but nothing. Here is a pic of it.

Okay I got it figured out. :cheesy:  I had to "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" under the advanced boot options in order to install the Etron USB 3.0 host controller driver. The question now is, why on earth would Asrock allow an un-digitally signed driver to be used as the excepted drivers on the motherboard CD or at their website?  Anyway, all is well now.

Glad you got it fixed :-)

Perhaps the cert on it was old?
