Title: .NET Framework
Post by: Samson on February 11, 2014, 11:27:08 am
Hi Shane,

Today's "Patch Tuesday" included 3 security updates for .NET Framework in XP. After April 8th am I right in thinking that MS will no longer offer .NET Framework updates for XP?

Two part question

Do I really need .NET Framework anyway? I know that 2 programs that I used to have installed needed it, but they are long gone now and so was wondering about uninstalling it altogether, your thoughts/ advice appreciated.

Thanks, Samson.

.Net frame work are just runtime files that are needed for a program written in .net to work. No .net programs installed? Then you have no need to have .net installed

Thanks Shane, I guess that means "Bye, Bye .NET Framework" , and a bit of HDD space reclaimed.

Thanks again, Samson.
