I'm hoping someone can help. I'm not very good with computers. I am using audacity to record a dj mix and when I play it back it sounds terrible. Can anyone help me with the settings PLEASE. I am using the Numark M101 USB mixer and I have installed it using the settings that came with it. Thanks Davie

Hi Davie,
I use Audacity quite a bit, maybe I can offer some help?
First thing to do is to check that you are not recording at too high a level. It sounds as if you are getting a recording but it may be distorted if too high. Try dropping the recording level a bit at a time.
The Audacity forum is a great resource, they are a friendly and helpful bunch

davieg what version of windows do you have?
Do you have a laptop? If so then you can try recording when the laptops power supply is unplugged to determine if the laptops power supply is causing a hum.
In Audacity have you set it up to receive audio via the M101USB?
You can read more here on page 4 http://www.numark.com/images/product_downloads/m101usb___quickstart_guide___v1.0.pdf
