Title: Yahoo hijack how to remove it?
Post by: msgtb on March 14, 2014, 07:55:01 pm
Hi

I have am running Win 7 Ultra. I use Bitdefender Internet for my main virus checker. Somehow I picked up a yahoo hijack. How do I get rid of it? I use Firefox for a browser. I have run Malwarebytes and Hitman and they didn't find it.

Thanks

Dave

Thomas

Thanks these things are a pain. I have a toolbar remover but it didn't show this up. I tried to search google and it comes up with all these scams trying to sell you a virus checker. If I am not careful I cause a larger problem trying to fix this problem.

God Bless

Thanks

Again

Ok, See if I understand you correctly, you have the Yahoo toolbar in Firefox?

This page explains step by step how to remove it (Remove Yahoo Toolbar and search.yahoo.com (Removal Guide)):

Yahoo hijack? I havent heard of that one as yahoo doesnt really do things like that. You might have had something install a yahoo tool bar or changed your home pages. What exactly is happening?

Hi, Could you say something more about the yahoo hijack. I never heard . But may be you are affected with redirect virus. If you are specific or enclose a screenshot, then useful solution could be given. There are many programs, but like malware bytes, these do not show, what they are doing and you are running the risk of more trouble, if you do not know which item to be deleted and what not.
Please a little explanation of how your browser is affected may be helpful
