Title: Tweaking
Post by: Michael22 on August 06, 2014, 06:33:08 am
Hi,à

I have an Asus I7-3770 cpu 3.4 ghz
32 go ram
And i ave all kind of problem

When i try to used tweaking.com, the blue screen appears, while trying to fix WMI and shuts down your program.

Otherwise computer lags and if when using a certain program it freeze.
malwarebytes says it is clean
I used BitDefender as an anitvirus, the only thing it reports is Windows update not being install, but everytime i tried it says it could not complete the update!!
Thus rebooting

And saying to look online for System Service Exception

Can you help

thank you

What message does the bluescreen indicate? If you are having freezes, maybe it's time to test the hardware. Memtest the memory. Check your video card to see if it's updated to the latest drivers.

Maybe your bluescreen is related to driver issues. Which doesn't necessarily mean there is a problem with the hardware.

Maybe run sfc.exe (system file checker) also. Are you using Windows 7?

Are these freezes just random lock ups. Like the computer will just completely lock up? Or are most of them blue screens?

Ok

I have run sfc/scannow without finding any error
Now i went into the services and found some that were deactivated so i have turn them on ( manual)

Previously

05 repair WMI would stop , now it is fine

I have reverted the NVIDIA driver and went on ASUS website and used another version a previous one from the one on the machine currenly.

Now 26, I got a blue screen that says again System Service Exception.

!!

Here i am now

What version of windows and what service pack do you have installed?

The fact that it is crashing during the wmi repair is odd since that is all windows files that are doing the work.

Download this program called "WhoCrashed" and run it, it will scan the crash file and tell you what might have caused the blue screen

Ok, go get the file version of the Msvcrt.dll, it will be in two locations and I will need the file version of both

C:\Windows\System32\Msvcrt.dll (On my 8.1 the version is 7.0.9600.16384)

and

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Msvcrt.dll (On my 8.1 the version is also 7.0.9600.16384)

Let me know what yours are.

Sounds good, when you get back, tell me exactly happens right before it crashes, and does anything else casue the system to crash?

Also what scans have you done on the system to make sure it is clean, and have you also done a bad sector check on the drive yet to make sure none of the files are on a bad sector.

OK!

I have run Malawarebytes and found nothing
I have run spybots same thing
I have BItDefender and it reports nothing

Google hang when the computer is idling after a little while
My son use BItTorent and it freeze at times

ErrorEnd has reports some error but they seems to be false true

voilà

Yeah, as Shane said check for bad sectors, I would run chkdsk C:

To see if data is getting corrupt. I would like to see the results to that. It just seems hardware related at this point.

Then check your memory, with memtest86 and run that on restart with a boot up disc. Maybe checking each stick of ram individually. Most memory problems are found on the first pass.

Or just use windows 8.1's memory diagnostics, it will ask you to restart now or later to run the check. Should be in the administrator tools. But memtest86 is better.

It would be better to run chkdsk without any switches and if it finds bad files/sectors it will tell you the switch to use.

This is because if the /r switch is used and there are bad sectors, data can be lost as it moves what it can to the good areas of the disk and the check is much quicker when run in just read-only mode.

If it finds bad sectors then you should back up your personal stuff before running a chkdsk /r.

The /r switch has the attributes of /f so it will repair as it moves the data http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc730714.aspx

HI following my previous post Tweaking Michael22

I have run a memory leak test  nothing there

I have done chkdsk nothing there also, I have included the file

As per info, my PC was running allnight and this morning Google chrome was not responding same for Bittorent

Further more, I have run your tool tweaking and it went all the way to the end this time!

But i am still facing a PC that will not update Microsoft Update
And that as Google Chrome last Veersion freezing whenever it is idling, same for Bittorent

What do you recommend

I have included the file requested for the scan disk

Thanks

OK so hardware looks good. Still makes me wonder if there is a network rootkit infection that the scanners are not picking up. To bad combofix doesnt work for 81 yet.

Try this, boot into safe mode with networking.

And use the programs there for a bit and see how they do.

Also did the event viewer so anything or any other errors that might give us a clue?

The DISM cmds have proven successful in some cases and running the /ScanHealth may be more informative as to what is wrong http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/hh824869.aspx

If the DISM.../RestoreHealth command doesn't fix then see if this will help http://batcmd.com/windows/8/services/trustedinstaller/

No, I didnt mean run my windows repair in safe mode, it doesnt work in safe mode because some of the services that are needed are not allowed to run, and my run repair as a service doesnt work because it isnt allowed to run in safe mode either.

I meant go into safe mode with networking , not just safe mode, you will have multiple options. And once in safe mode with networking try chrome and bittorent for a while and see if you get the freezes or crashes at all like you do when the system is up normal.

The point of this test is that if they work fine in safe mode with networking, then we know it is another program running on your system or service that is causing the problem.

Ok,

I have run overnight in safemode with networking on
Google and Bittorent seemed to be ok under that setup

By the way, after all these manipulations the last 6 windows update, that would not installed, were finally installed.

That's it for now

I Had removed the last Nvidia driver since then it seems there is no more blue screen!!!

Who crashed, is still reporting a violation in 'msvcrt.dll'

Now Nvidia is saying that it has an update available what should i do skip or try to reinstalled that last version?

Thank you

Hi,

Now it is dead!!!

if i put the USB key in the drive it stops while booting cannot go in safe mode!!!

Help
Title: Re: Tweaking
Post by: Shane on August 11, 2014, 12:57:55 pm
When the usb drive is plugged in, go into the bios and the boot options and make sure the bios didnt put the usb as the first boot device for the hard drives. If it did then the system would try to boot off of the usb instead of the hard drive.

Drives me insane that motherboards change the hard drive boot order when you plug in a drive. Why on earth do they do that?

What about before that screen? Could you see the bios screen at the start of the boot up, did you see the windows logo as well?

Sometimes that is the best thing. When you have problems that go too deep in Windows then you have to decided, which is faster, reinstall or keep trying to fix it?

And some things in windows, when they get corrupt can only be fixed by a reinstall. This might have been one of them
