Title: Windows 7 Firewall Control
Post by: peterr on May 22, 2012, 11:57:03 am
Hello
I am using the Win 7 firewall that is part of Windows 7.
It seems it protects traffic one way. I was reading about a firewall named  "Windows 7 Firewall Control" which seems to protect two ways.
Is this the same as the one I have or different.
If different, which would you suggest for an average user who has a router.
Thank you
Peter

The windows firewall works both ways :-)

You just go to the firewall advanced settings and you can control inbound and outbound rules

Hi again
I will go there to see what I can do.
If I check defaults, will I have reasonable protction? I think most people like me do just that. However, if it is better to configure, I will learn to do so.
Hope you and Z are making headway;look forward to the video.

As long as your behind a router you will be fine. A router is a hardware based firewall
