Title: sata drivers for intel desktop mother board d915 gav
Post by: jraju on March 30, 2015, 05:37:08 am
My hard disk is a kind of bricked one. It does not show up in bios as well while install or repair. I will be thankful for any one who specifically give a link for download.
I tried f6fply x86 and tried in both win xp or win 7. Both failed.
If iclick the hide the drivers ,no drivers shown. If i select install all, it instamells but i get no drivers found error message in win 7 and similar msg in win xp. Intel sata drivers for my board is the need of the hour. i am trying to integrate drivers for xp atleast, but since the correeeeeeeeeeeet driver is not found  i could not use my pc at all

Set your preferences in https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/50359/Intel-Desktop-Board-D915GAV to refine the list but I would start with the Chipset Utility.

If the drive doesnt show up in the bios then the drive is dead. Drivers have nothing to do with the bios seeing the drive, drivers are just to tell windows how to use the hardware.

That is if I understood what you where asking, I am answering 40 forum posts right now so I might have miss understood what you where asking lol

yes, Shane is correct., after trying another cable, does the drive show?
please tell us, yes or no? if it don't show, put the drive in another system and see if it shows their, if not, it is dead!
thanks in advance

hi,w

shane, the cd dv drive is working on sata ports and i confirm that hard disk is not dead. It is new.  I kno  w that when i bought, it was ide supported. But later on sata supported.I mean that i bought it with ide cable connection. Now it is no more in use and i use sata cable which is working. why sata drivers are not supported in earlier systems. even in laptop, if i fail to disable sata in bios, i get bsod. But i do not know how to do this in pc bios. there are enhanced ,legacy settings. enhanced will enable all sata and pata ports. I fail to notice, why drivers are not there. It is a new hard disk with win seven on it. It is a kind of bricked. I tried fixmbr and fixboot in recovery option. But it fails in bootcfg rebuild command. It does not finish successfully.
how to change acbj  mode to ide to atleast install win xp
shane, i know that if it fails in bios then it is not bootable. but why no drivers were installed in win 7 installation. i definitelly know that hdd is hale and healthy and spinning corrrectly. I tried new cable, but i still get reboot make sure that boot . device error message. i checked the ports with dvd drive on all ports and all are working. so,
i also notice that dvd drive has wires and it is connected with the hard disk. can i check by plugging this power in hdd I am learrning the wiring also now. could i use  another power connection to check the power. since the hdd isspinning, i do hope that power is coming to the hdd. please. why then load drivers errors. in win 7 and set up cannot continue in xp. xp only shows the two pendrive storage in the opening screen. It is failing to show the hdd, as sata drivers are not found. I tried. the drivers in the links but i do not know how exe files could be made to work in installation stage. there is no floppy disc to try loading drivers.

Hi, When i preferred the recovery option in win 7 and execute list disk it only shows the two pen drives, one for win 7 and the other for drivers  folder. i also tried chkdsk c:, but found that it is scanning the pendrive containing the win 7. i had to stop, as it is waste of time to scan the installation usb drive. and not the hdd which is bricked.
If mother board does not find the hdd in bios what is the solution. i tried the mother ports . pl why bootcfg /rebuild not satisfactorily completed

new hard disk not recognised in bios and wdc diagnostic dos program reports no driver found error code 0120. my memory is working and i think that it is something to do with disk controller , sata controller ports .I am trying everything to recover
