Hi
I have Windows 8.1 6.3.9600 64 bit, and I ran pre-scan, then chkdsk, sfc and DSIM to fix most error reported. However I still have a corrupt file KB2976978. I found the that elw's list had the same file also corrupt so I downloaded the zip, extracted it and removed the other packages. When I tried to copy them I found I needed permission so I ran the permissions registry file, and as you see in the screenshot I got the context menu option. I ran it on c:\\Windows\servicing\Packages and when I tried to copy again, I was told I needed to provide administrative access to copy, I did so and then I was again told I needed to permission to perform this action. I tried taking ownership several times, even taking ownership of the servicing folder with the same result.
Any ideas on how to copy to this folder?

After you try to take ownership see if you can then edit the permissions and if you can make sure to give yourself or the administrators group full access.

Sorry for the delay in getting back, I was sick. Editing the permissions worked for the files that I had copies of but apparently there have been a few added, as you can see in the attached. I would really appreciate it if you could find the missing .cab files:
