I have a computer with a virus?
It was the one where it randomly plays internet radio when connected to the internet…
I tried several programs to get it going… combofix, mbam, they have Norton,
I found many concerns and cleaned them but it still wasn’t gone.
So after some research I ran Norton Power Eraser. It found one item.
I cleaned it and now I cannot get windows to boot in at all.
It will not do a startup repair, it will not do a system restore.
I have been trying to do a chkdsk to repair and find errors on the hard drive, but I cannot get it to boot in and run.
I attempt to run after booting to Windows 7 Disk and using command prompt.
It reports that it is write protected.
Been messing with this all week and am getting irritated.
Any help will be appreciated.

Sounds like the boot manager got killed and the drive never unmounted.
When you boot off the windows 7 cd and run the repairs have you had it try to do the auto repairs?

Ok from the cmd prompt try this
Start > Run "cmd"
type--> diskpart
type--> list volume
type--> select volume #
type--> attributes disk clear readonly
See if that fixes the read only errors :wink:
