Title: Windows Repair - AD user policy fails after repair
Post by: spinagig on February 23, 2016, 01:01:51 pm
I came across a problem with performing a Windows repair on computers linked to Active Directory. Something in one of the following repairs causes the User policy to fail upon logging in. The error message I get is "The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows could not determine if the user and computer accounts are in the same forest." I have to drop the computer off AD and reset the computer account to reestablish the link. I would like to narrow things down for you but I'm a bit swamped. Maybe someone might be aware of this issue??

Here are the repairs I ran in safe mode:
Register system files
Repair WMI
Repair Windows firewall
Repair Internet Explorer
Repair Hosts file
Remove Policies set by infections
Remove temp files
Repair proxy settings
Repair file associations
Restore important Windows services
Repair performance counters.

Yes, it is set to Automatic.

I'm showing the following dependencies (if it helps)
- Browser Support Driver
- Network Store Interface Service (also set to Automatic)
- SMB 1.x MiniRedirector
- SMB 2.0 MiniRedirector
