Title: What is a free program for recording?
Post by: makinero on June 20, 2016, 02:54:01 am
What is a free program for recording?
CamStudio - very bad.
All files(Video)are large size.

Debut Video Capture Software.
It has the best ratio Quality - size.

Extremely compressed AVI file but high quality FULL HD.
910 KB  1 min 10 second 1980x1080
but damages the icon in my system.
Another alternative ???

hi, julian,
I tried OBS studio. i get Failed to initialize videos. Is there any fix?
Or should i try the other software in the page, without word studio in it? pl
Edit: it seems that the other download, is working, but pl say how to  start streaming. How to do things.
I use various video converters , which has add files or urls option. Here there is nothing. Pl say few lines of how to record videos from  a website

Try http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

you will need to study it before using; but it works for many scenarios!

if your trying to spy on someone;  eventually you will find a reason to leave !

do them and yourself a favor...go find someone else !

Off topic:Rick! You are alive! Lol long time since I've seen you on the forums!

Back on topic obs should have a screen capture mode or a program capture only mode and you have to just enable the recording. It should save the video in the video folders.

I have tried many programs, but each program is not working properly, or creates too large size of video files in relation to the duration, number of frames and dimensions!

or it is not free, or registration required.
or it is not too simple, and there is no intuitive interface usage.

Hi, Should i take that to means that you need a video converter or video player?
Your quote: but I want to record only what I'm doing on my computer
If that is so, i could recommend something for you to try?
The best program for audio recorder is audacity.
Is that program, i have given the link, not working for you? as per your expectation/

I want to only record video sequence (no audio) of the entire desktop screen / any program, and then save it automatically with unique name(date, time etc.) on hard disk.
Eg. Create video-tutorial

AVI Encoding Settings:
H264 (Native)
Compression Settings:Quality (Rate factor): 28.0 (Note: 10.0 High quality . . . (Low quality) 51.0
No audio

Please see this and use the application there
in the link. It is free to use . If you do not want audio, you could disable it
