Title: New bad clusters were found on the source drive. These clusters were not backed
Post by: Kinokonoyama on July 11, 2016, 06:49:47 am
Hello

I upgraded my Windows 7 to 10, Dell 64 bit

Cannot make an System Image backup, failed three times

Saw Tweaking.com, here, http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-update/system-image-backup-failed-in-windows-10/d6a83acb-7eb7-4e3c-9fea-bac74214b50a?auth=1

Tried to Shrink Volume - didn't work.

Used the Tweaking tool
a. files were added to my desktop, ~$
b. changed defaults to the windows defaults, no Adobe, no VLC etc.

So, restored my computer
Not technically inclined but can follow detailed instructions.
There are so many options on the Tweaking tool...

What next?

Is the attached helpful?

Thanks!

Did you download "Reimage"? That is an advert and NOT Tweaking.com's Windows repair all in one program.

Attached screenshot shows the advert for Reimage in the first red box and the downloads for Tweaking.com Windows Repair all in one are shown in the second red box.

Yes, I download Tweaking repair program too.

I just showed the Reimage because maybe the data would be helpful.

There are so many tweaks in the Tweaking program, not sure what's best.

A few tips here http://www.tweaking.com/articles/pages/windows_repair_all_in_one_tips,1.html

It is generally advised to run all the repairs, as many are interdependent.

Thanks.

When I first did all of the tweaks, these were on my desktop "~$filename" and all of my my previous preferences were changed. No more Adobe it changed to the Microsoft app. No more iTunes it became Groove radio and so on.

So, I recovered my backup.

How to avoid the above?
