Title: Programs not starting
Post by: srm4him on September 27, 2017, 01:37:46 am
Neither Registry Backup nor Windows Repair will open. When I double click the icons, Registry Backup does nothing, but Windows Repair after a few seconds, a small window opens which says "invalid picture." Last week both opened just fine but yesterday this happened. I am using Windows 10.

Can you go Start - type %temp% and press enter.

If that is highly populated then there will be insufficient space left to run some programs.

You can use CRTL+a to highlight then CTRL+d to delete - confirm - then check the box for Do this for all current items then click on Skip.

You'll get this prompt because some files will still be open and in use.

You will then need to empty the Recycle Bin.

I typed %temp% and then enter and it asks me which program I want it to open with.

You shouldn't do.

Use the attached .zip to disable Cortana and try again.

Save it and extract it from your Downloads folder.

The .zip has an enable as well so that you can turn it off and on.

As this was okay last week, see if using your restore points back to before the problem started will help.
