Title: msado15.dll 80040154
Post by: albesp77 on February 09, 2018, 06:52:32 am
dear all, i have more software on a computer (windows 7 SP1 x64) that does not work anymore, all of these try to connect to access databases to work, and with procmon and other tools i notice that they successfull open their database, but they are unable to send a query, getting error 80040154 in msado15.dll, i already tried to:

1) uninstall and reinstall office
2) install all access redistributable
3) install all access engine

but problem persist and does not change, except with nothing installed that give me provider msado.oledb.12.0 error, a different error, i've also used TEST_MDAC.exe that give me that all is OK and WORKING! any idea to solve this problem ?

thanks!

Have you tried them in Safe Mode with Networking ?

I'm just wondering if your antivirus program could be the problem which will be isolated in that mode.

I don't think there's much point in running the MDAC repair in the repair program as that Test_MDAC.exe came back clean.

That's unwise, but all 3rd party programs will also be isolated in that mode as well.

There may be something in this article that will help but it may be better if you use MS support for this problem.

ok i'll try on microsoft support, but i think that something is not clear here, provider exists, database open, but crash on query!

Well something is conflicting.

Safe Mode with Networking isolates all 3rd party programs that may be starting up when you boot because they are in your Startup menu in msconfig.

What is common to both modes is Windows Firewall, but I would have expected an Access Denied error code if that had been the case, but should it be because of Windows Firewall, have a look at this article for adding Outlook as an exception.

As usual though, create a restore point before making any changes.
