Hi,
I am hoping someone can identify why I keep having this issue of images not loading in Outlook 365 and data not loading in my weather app.
If I run tweaking Windows repair, it fixes the issue, but I would like to know what is causing it and if there is a simple way of fixing it other than running tweaking Windows repair.
I have Windows 10 and as far as I know, all latest updates are installed on my PC.
Thank you
-
Next time it happens just select the Permissions repairs to see if that resolves.
However, I'll ask about this although the alternative is to just run one repair each time it happens and work your way through the list.
You could also check Event Viewer to see if anything has been recorded with a date and time stamp when you get this error.
-
Hi Boggin,
Thanks for your reply. I just completed Permissions repair, but it did not resolve the issue. I had a look at the Event Viewer, but I don't really understand what I am looking at
-
Click on Error then on View All Instances of This Event in the lower right pane then look for the appropriate date and time stamped errors.
Clicking on each will produce some more info in the lower pane.
You can copy & paste these into your reply box by clicking on Copy details/Copy details as text in the lower right pane then right click in the reply box and select Paste.

Hi Boggin,
I am not sure if this is what you are asking. Below is the first error when I turned on my PC this morning.

They look to be a little sparse on details.
Here's one I always get on boot - as you can see, it gives what is faulting.
This machine was upgraded from Win 7 to 10.

When you clicked on each of those errors, did it give more info in the pane below ?

Hi Boggin,
I could not find anything that looks similar to the example you have given. I have attached an image of my Event Viewer. From memory, the menu seems different to your original description. Which menu should I be looking at?
Regards,
Denis
-
Yes, I see what you have done.
Click on the name Error and not on the plus box and then you will see View All Instances of This Event in the lower right pane - click on that and then on each of the events where you will see more info in the pane below, but that Side by Side error could be significant as that means you have one program conflicting with another.
Or it may be because this isn't installed properly - https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=29
Can you copy & paste the sidebyside error.
One way to diagnose that is to disable all items in the Startup menu, reboot and then see if that error reoccurs or if you still have the same original problem.
You can do that by right clicking in the taskbar and selecting Task Manager then click on the Startup tab - click on each item then on Disable.
Click on File/Exit to close Task Manager then restart.

Hi Boggin,
All the side by side errors are the same and relate to a program Audacity. Not sure what to do about this as I use this program frequently. Below is what the error says:
Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files (x86)\Audacity\audacity.exe".Error in manifest or policy file "" on line . A component version required by the application conflicts with another component version already active. Conflicting components are:. Can you see if disabling all items in the Startup menu resolves this.
-
I've been Googling to see what I could find for the Audacity sidebyside error and it would seem others are experiencing the same in build 2.1.3 but it doesn't occur in build 2.1.2
While it doesn't appear to affect the running of Audacity, I'm not sure if it could have a knock on effect.
If feasible, you could go back to that version to see if it has any effect on your original problem.
-
Just a guess -- But I'll wager there is an error in the audacity manifest.
-
Hi Boggin and Admin,
I think I have resolved the issue. It seems to be an issue with Window Update. I found an issue there and resolved it. Audacity said the issue was definitely nothing to do with Audacity and something to do with Windows.
Thanks for all the help and suggestions.
-
Glad to see that you have found the cause, but what was the update issue ?
