Hi,
I'm Kelvin from Canada. Found this forum searching for my problem. I hope I find solutions here.
I have Dell Inspiron 3567 i3-7th Gen laptop with Windows 10 pro installed. Problem is that my screen does not turns back on after my laptop comes back from idle state. I hear windows sounds when I press every key out of frustration. Wonder if it is a hardware issue or OS? Right now, I have disabled screen turn off in every case but it's a temporary solution as it is consuming my battery a lot.

I've seen this problem reported on other Dell laptops that had been using McAfee antivirus and uninstalling McAfee had resolved the problem.

Hi Boggin,
Thanks for the response. I am using Windows Defender (its built-in Anti-virus) shall I try disabling it?

I don't think WD would be the cause and turning it off for any length of time can be problematic as it reinstates itself.
In Powers options/Advanced power options expand PCI Express and check those settings are set to Off
-
Link State Power Management under PCI Express has default settings:
On Battery: maximum power savings
Plugged In: maximum power savings
I have set them to OFF now. Let's see

My default is set to Off so try changing to that.
I'm going to have to go out for a couple of hours but will be back to check.

Done it. Let's see if this works  Thanks!
