Title: BAD_POOL_CALLER
Post by: GabrielleReid on November 20, 2018, 02:18:10 am
I was working on my PC and suddenly a blue screen appeared and it read "Your PC ran into a problem and need to restart. We're just collecting some error info and then well restart for you."
BAD_POOL_CALLER.
Is this happening because I've not yet updated my Windows 10 or there's some other reason?
Please help!
Thanks.

No, it doesn't have anything to do with updates and may have just been a one time glitch which will have been resolved by the reboot.

However, there is more info on this BSOD in this MS article if the problem reoccurs - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/debugger/bug-check-0xc2--bad-pool-caller

EDIT - Win 10 has its own BSOD troubleshooter which may ID if a driver is responsible.

Thanks Boggin. I had a look at the link you just mentioned and I also checked out Earthslab (http://Earthslab) and Reviversoft (http://Reviversoft) which my friend suggested but I still can't get the problem sorted out. Maybe I'll get my machine checked by a local dealer.
Thank you so much again.

I would start with checking to see if there are any updates for the respective drivers on the manufacturer's websites, but Event Viewer may have errors recorded associated with the BSOD error message.

They will have similar time stamps.

Have you run Win 10's BSOD troubleshooter ?
