I Googled that but didn't see anything to explain it.

I'll ask jpm to see if he knows why.

Happened when;

Shift print screen function; copy to mspaint
cropped the image etc...

then save as jpg, dib not even an option... ?
it saved as DIB?

Another classic function from ?

Hmmm... OK. .dib is really a .bmp .

So at least we know that paint thinks it is actually an image.

I suspect that is the problem and an easy fix if need be.

well, that's an old problem and we don't use those systems.
applying those to test? i'm the guy!
reviewed; there the same, no changes their!

Problem exists?
What if DIB files can contain "X"?
I usually send jpg images for people to view; will they need some special software to open later, like win10?

Should only save as JPG if that is what I tell my machine to do, anything else is?

* Possible, change more likely from a recent update to get people to move to 10 like my other thread founded out!
