Title: Registry Backup Won't Open
Post by: Danette on May 24, 2019, 07:56:21 am
I have a Win 7 64-bit machine with Registry Backup installed. With every boot, it backs-up the registry as it should. However, I cannot open the program by clicking on the exe. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing, but it still won't open to access the settings. Any ideas for fixing this?

I'll need to install the program on my Win 7 machine to see what happens and will get back to you on this, but I'm involved at the moment with other maintenance tasks.

That probably won't be necessary. I can run it on another Win 7 64-bit desktop with no problem. There is something stopping it on the one desktop.

I have noticed something interesting that may be indicative of the problem;

On the troubled desktop, the "TweakingRegistryBackup.exe *32" process remains running after booting and completion of the backup. On the other machines, it does not remain running.

I'll pass this on to see if there are any suggestions as to why this is happening on just one machine.

With it being a weekend, I'm not sure when I'll get a reply though.
