Title: [Resolved] Windows Repair Tool not running.
Post by: tweekfromsouthpark on May 02, 2020, 02:18:52 pm
While running Windows Repair v4.8.0, it keeps stopping and I received an error. I have administrative privileges and booted in safe mode w/ networking. This is the error:

    "Starting Repairs...
        Started at (5/2/2020 5:09:01 PM)

Done, but failed, at (5/2/2020 5:09:31 PM)
        Total Repair Time: 00:00:32

The current repair has failed to start 6 times.
Something is keeping the repair from running."

I have attached the log file if anyone could help, it would be much appreciated.

Not sure if its related but I thought I should probably also include that I had a BSoD with an error related to the system exception of WdFitler.sys, I tried to reset mini-filter by using the command "SC config WdFilter start= boot" in cmd but it said "[SC] OpenService FAILED 5: Access is denied."

This article may help with the BSOD - https://www.howto-connect.com/fix-wdfilter-sys-blue-screen-of-death-error-windows-10/

Windows Defender shouldn't be enabled in Safe Mode with Networking, but Windows Firewall is.

If that article doesn't help, you could try a Google for free antivirus programs and install one of those which will disable WD.

As for the program not running, check to see if it will after following the suggestions in that article.

If it still fails to run, boot up into Safe Mode with Networking, uninstall the repair program and reinstall to see if that makes any difference.

Resolved - Didn't even have to reboot just reinstall the program, weird. Thanks for the help.
