Post by: Davie on December 20, 2011, 10:40:57 am
Windows XP Pro SP3

Event information shown in attachment.  Windows Repair fails to make any difference.
Any ideas?

Looks like the error has to do with WMI. Which the security center and the firewall both use.

Did the repair WMI section of the program report any errors?

Check the Path variable on your system and make sure it has %SystemRoot%\System32\WBEM

The attached screenshot shows the only "Path" variable I have; i.e., "PATHEX".  Are you suggesting that I add a variable named "Path" with the value :
 %SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem  ?

Thanks for your continued help and patience with me.

That might be your problem right there

Make a path variable and then put this in for it

%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem

That's it.  Congratulations!!!  Your last suggestion fixed it.  No more 1802's.
Thanks for all your help!

Merry Christmas to you and yours.
