I bought a amd fx 6100 processor and the msi 990xa-g55 motherboard. I am new to overclocking. I how do i do it the right way without killing my processor (obviously overclocking could kill it)? What do i start with first i.e the fsb, multiplier, or voltage.

To much voltage is where you could fry it, and high heat.

Every board is different on over clocking. Your best bet is to find forums threads with people with the same cpu and motherboard. And the type of memory you have can affect it as well.

For me I can easily jump about 15% higher without anything special. My motherboard even has an auto overclock option for 15% and it runs stable.
