Hi and greetings from Belgium!
I am running W10Pro. I do not update my system regularly. Until april 2022 I had the 1803 version. Then I have updated to 21H2. Until the 1803 version, I can say that TweakingRegistryBackup has always done its job: backupping and, the most important, restoring the registry. But with the 21H2, it is finished. The backup procedure seems to function normally: VSS ok, 16 files are succesfully backed up in 2 main folders (Users and Windows): log file= https:**www.cjoint.com/c/LGqkNfu1D7U)
But, but restoring is always a failure. Either I arrive on a temporary profile, or there is no restore at all (+ different error messages from Windows). Restoring with a liveCD (like in the video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbN0eWR9HMs) gives a black screen and a full block of the machine.
So am I the only one?
Thanks,
A. (and sorry for the mistakes in English!..)

You are the only one that has reported this so far.
I'll pass this onto Shane, although it may be a while before I hear from him.

Thanks, you give me some hope...!
Do you confirm me that the procedure to restore from a LiveCD -as it is shown in the youtube video meintioned above) is still good? It could have changed with W10, couldn'it?
-
I think it should still be good for Win 10.

This is very strange...Couldn'it be that somewhere in my W10 there is 'something [rule..]' preventing any change in the registry files??
BTW (edit): I have no antivirus and Windows defender is disabled.

You should have at least Windows Defender enabled but there are better free av programs out there which you should Google for.
I use the Pro version of TotalAV but it does have a free version.
Once you have installed an av program, run a full scan as an infection can prevent registry changes.

Thanks. Do not forget that after a full update of Win10, you get a clean system... I had win defender active, I just wanted to say that this strange behaviour could not be an interference with an antivirus.
