Title: Can't start Windows Time Service
Post by: rrussell2244 on March 09, 2013, 10:19:31 am
Hi,

I can't start the Windows Time Service. I am getting: "Error2: The system cannot find the file specified".
No change after running the Windows Repair v1.9.12 and also tried most everything else found on Google.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Robert

- Which Operating system are you using ?
- Does your "C:\windows\system32" or "C:\windows\syswow64\" folder contain the files "W32time.dll", "w32topl.dll", "w32tm.exe" ?

My repair tool doesnt do anything with the time service.

That error means that the service cant find the file it needs, which on my Windows 7 64 bit is C:\Windows\System32\w32time.dll

Have you done a system file check on your system yet?
