Bummer, how do I get support?
This section allows you to view all posts made by this member. Note that you can only see posts made in areas you currently have access to.
The following file is in use and can not be updated:In Process Explorer I attempted to find the app but was not successful so I rebooted. I was then able to upgrade to v4.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Tweaking.com\Registry
Backup\files\Backup_Failed_Message.exe
Close all other applications and choose Retry. Choose Cancel to install this file on reboot.
Can you manually create a registry back up from within the program as I've done to see if you still get error messages ?After running the Registry Backup and getting the failure I did run the backup within Windows Repair and got the same error. As a test I just ran the backup within Window Repair and got the failure, the log is attached. I just noticed that the date of the log file is 11/04/19 1300 hours (this is the current time) thus the log was updated from my most recent run.
As for the Internet problem, can you switch off the router and computer and disconnect all cables for a couple of minutes.I had tried this a few weeks ago and even did a full power reset, e.g. with the power cable unplugged I pressed the power on button a few times on each device.
Reconnect the cables then switch just the router on until all of its lights are on and then switch the computer on.This I did not do or at least not in the sequence you suggest. If the issue reoccurs I'll give it a shot.
This is known as a router power cycle and can resolve most connectivity problems.
When you get that 169.254.###.### IP address, that denotes a DHCP problem where Windows uses a workaround of assigning an APIPA address of 169.254. until the DHCP server becomes available but generally, a reboot of the router or computer is needed. That makes sense, thanks. To get back my static address:
My apologies - thought you were using Task Manager.NP I was not clear as to what I was running. In the TM when I right click I don't see "Go to services" but I do see "Go to Details", in the details view when I right-click I do see "Go to Services".
Right click on the Taskbar and select Task Manager then under the Processes tab, click on Memory to sort to highest user first and then follow those steps.
I don't have Win 10 to try out these Dism cmds but for that cmd to succeed, you need to mount the volume from the ISO.I'm assuming you mean the Win10 install CD as an ISO file. This I have and give it a try.
Have you considered a repair install which you can do by using the Upgrade now button in https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/windows-10-upgradeIf I recall correctly this would require that I reinstall my apps. For now this is a no-no for me. I'm fighting too many other issues with my four systems. However this may be the shortest distance between my problems and success. During the Christmas holidays I started a clean install of Win10 on my desktop and I'm still resolving issues on the system and access to the system from my three laptops.
This won't affect anything you have installed since upgrading to Win 10, unlike a refresh or reset would, but would be advisable to create an external system image first as a fall back.Gee if it will not really effect anything this really sounds like a great option.
