Hi thanks again for your continued support of this program.

Your most recent version has issues running the file permissions reset in safe mode, I had the issue on 3 separate PC's today, then they ran fine in normal mode.  This issue did not occur with previous versions of the program.

Good info, you're like an encylopedia! That is quite silly if they're trying to get people to migrate to the windows 8 GUI, then force UAC on them.... I wonder how many people bought macs because someone on their PC disabled UAC then they couldn't figure out how to install a program after that... I have stock in Microsoft, very disappointing.

General Computer Support / 2502/2503 problem not solved by Tweaker tool
« on: August 06, 2014, 09:09:57 pm »
Hey again, thanks again for the amazing tool.  I ran into an issue today with MSI files on Windows 8 not installing, getting error 2502/2503.  I ran Tweaker all in one with AV disabled and checked all boxes and rebooted, and incurred same issue.  After rebooting I ran through different forums and ran a few fixes and the fix turned out to be just running the file as admin.  It's happening with all MSI files on my PC.

Thought that this would be an easy fix to add into the AIO tool.

Thanks !

Making a note to self for next time, thanks ! If I see it fixed the issue I'll come back and comment, that one got OS reinstalled so no checking that one lol.

The service that I checked after researching was UPNP device host, some research suggested I set that to automatic rather than manual it did not help.

I did not look into any Twain service, but I believe this all in one repair here sets services back to default so that would have been set to the correct status?

Any easy way to reinstall the twain service ?

General Computer Support / Windows Vista (and possibly 7) broken scaner
« on: January 14, 2014, 06:20:57 pm »
So I do remote tech work all day and ran into the first puzzle I could not fix w/out OS reinstall, the printer communicated fine with the system, both the HP software and Windows. However, scanning failed to no avail, both with the HP software, Windows Fax & Scan, and other 3rd party software.  Every trick in the book was attempted which will be listed below, and another brand new Canon printer with a seperate USB cable had the same probolem.  OS reinstall remedied the situation.

Attempted fixes before OS reinstall that did not fix it:
Full virus checks
Removing antivirus
SFC (no issues)
Quick hardware check passed (HD, mem, temps)
System restore to when scanner was working no fix
All in one repair
Services repair
Internet repair (resets firewall)
Turning off print spooler, deleting all contents of printer driver folders, completely deleting all traces of printers from registry under HKLM->System->Current Control-> Printers
Rebooting and readding printers via Windows manually and trying again (still could not communicate with scanner)
Moving to every USB port on the PC
Trying new USB cable
Adding the printer software using the CD
Trying 3rd party TWAIN software to communicate with scanner
I do not remember and will repost if I find out, the error was 3,156, 64 for scanning.
Googling the error message no success

Is there a trick to be able to fix a scanner communication issue manually w/out OS reinstall?  Thanks ! ! ! !

Hey, so I really like the "Chimes" sound from the Alarm in the Windows Store, so much so that I want to put it on my phone.  I want a high quality download of it which I could not find online.  Where can I find this file within Windows, I'm assuming that it is within a folder like Android has, with notifications and sound files all found in one?

Problem solved, you're the best.

At first I got that error, as posted.

I changed the owner of that reg Folder to SYSTEM, and it went into effect immediately.

So you just need to change your Registry batch tool to watch out for that folder and change owner to system from whatever it's currently set to.

FinallyI have the pretty facebook (: lol all this for that....

And to answer other question yes I ran the reg permissions fix, because I had a hard drive with some bad sectors that I couldn't access data from, it magically fixed it.

New user account fixed it.

Went back to old account out of curiosity and it still had troubles.  I converted it to a Microsoft Account and it still did not work.  Will take a lot of effort to move stuff over to new account, so next lazy day I guess I'll do it.

Do you think running the updated tweaker tool again will fix anything with it?  I'm on 8.1

THanks again.

Hey Shane,

First off wanted to thank you for your tool, it's quite revolutionary and has saved me in a jam many times.

I myself ran the All-in-One, and my Windows App Store stopped working after that.  It fixed my external hard drive which I couldn't install anything on due to reallocations, and your tool made me quite happy, but today I discovered Facebook doesn't install, it downloads but then fails at the install. Was there any progress made with fixing this? I ran the Windows Cab file you had posted and it didn't fix it.  Also tried going into the my computer thing where you had me right click and add access to all users, full control was already granted.  I don't really want to refresh my PC atm.  I'm getting error 8007064a.

Thanks !       !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
