I called my brother yesterday via Skype and used my external mike. He told me that he could hear me just
great. Therefore, I will continue to use the external mike until MS gets off their dead butts and fixes the
problem they caused. Have a great one.

I try to call my brother in the U.S. about every 6 months just to make sure everything is ok.

Did an on line chat with a level 1 and a level 2 MS Tech. I gave them control of my Laptop and they
did more than 3 hours of troubleshooting but could not find nor fix the problem. They advise me that
it was probably a Toshiba drive problem with an outdated driver and to contact them for an updated
driver to fix this. I don't think it's a Toshiba drive problem. I have installed some Toshiba drivers but
with no help to correct the problem.  What good is SKYPE if I can not use it?

This did not help. If anyone has a solution to fox this problem please advise. If it is a
Microsoft update problem the only thing I can do is to wait until the fix it if they ever
do. Thanks

I have a Toshiba laptop S55-A5275 and the internal camera & Microphone do not work. My OS
is Windows 10 version 1803. Tried to call my brother the other day via Skype but he could not
hear me. The last time I talk to him via Skype was in Jan 2018 and at that time it was working.
I need some help to correct or fix this problem. Thank you

Shane

Thanks for the info. Once it is upgraded I will try it again. The other day I went on line and chatted with one of the Microsoft Answer Techs. I explained my problem to him and that every thing I have tried has only been a  temporary fix. He told me that if I wanted the problem fixed I should buy one of their support plans. I told him hell no because I believe this to be a Microsoft software problem and that Microsoft should fix the problem in one of their windows updates. I ended the chat session with him but am still looking for a solution to the problem. Another question for you. Is there a simple and easy way to clear the Event Logs or does it really matter how large it gets.

I downloaded and tried to run the Combofix but it would not run and advised me that Combofix is not meant to run in "Compatibility Mode" the program shall now exit. I am not sure what this means? Is this program for Windows 7 or Windows 8.1? My Windows Store is temporarily working now and I can install some App's. I was trying many different things so I am not sure was I did to get it to work for now. I am sure by latter today or tomorrow it will be back to it's corrupted state. On the start screen my SKYPE will not open. But no problems for now because I have it on my desktop.

I ran sfc /scannow and it completed 100% and did not find any integrity violations. I have windows 8.1 with IE 11.
It looks like tutorials/3413-repair-install-html is for windows 7 not 8.1. Is the combofix.exe run in the CMD prompt?
After I ran sfc /scannow I tried it but it told me that it was not recognized and did not run.

I ran your program but it did not fix the problem. I have Malwarebytes Pro which I run  to scan my system. A couple of other temporary fixes that I have tried are on the CMD Prompt typed wsreset. In addition I have disconnected my Microsoft account and established a Local account. Then re-established my Microsoft account. Once again this has been only a temporary fix. The next day the store is corrupted again. I am not computer savey and have no idea of what to do next. Any ideas?

Used the following on Command Prompt dism.exe /online / cleanup- image /scanhealth
After this finish it indicated that corruption on the store was detected. Then I used the
following Command Prompt dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
When this finish it indicated that the corruption was repaired.
However, this was only a temp fix to the problem.  Just about every day the same problem
occurs and the windows store is corrupted again. Can't install any APS and SKYPE will not
open. Therefore I put SKYPE on my desktop and I works just fine. Looking for a solution to
fix this corruption of the windows store. Any ideas anyone?
